Anne Schürmann
Couples Therapy
About Me
I am a systemic therapist with an academic background in psychology and social work, and extensive international and intercultural experience. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are facing relationship difficulties, family challenges, or complex life situations. I think and work in both English and German, and offer counselling in either language.
My work focuses on understanding patterns of interaction, communication, and meaning within relationships—especially when situations feel stuck, emotionally intense, or marked by ongoing conflict. Together, we explore what is happening in your relationships and identify ways to reduce distress, strengthen boundaries, and create space for meaningful change.
My approach is collaborative, respectful, and compassionate. I understand difficulties not as individual shortcomings, but as experiences shaped by relationships, family histories, and social contexts. Counselling offers a safe and confidential space to reflect, gain new perspectives, and develop ways forward that feel sustainable and aligned with your values.
I aim to meet each person with openness, cultural sensitivity, and care. Drawing on my international and intercultural background, I work thoughtfully with diverse identities, family structures, and life experiences. My intention is to create a supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and understood—particularly in situations that feel polarised, emotionally charged, or uncertain.
